The soil classification for this construction site was decomposed granite. This required the structure to be built on 3.6m piers.
The house was constructed using steel structural frame, recycled bricks. Extensve use of blackbutt cladding, decking, internal flooring and features. With a strong emphasis on the use of raw materials.
Many areas of this construction required custom items. The internal stair railings were custom formed using American Oak, curved steel and glass.
Galvanised open truss frame-work was an brilliant design feature allowing vine growth and natural shading of the deck areas.
A roof garden is situated on the first floor level which can be viewed from the living area.
The living area features heating with a floating exhaust fan.
